Neighbor Julie/Heritage Place seeking labor leads...

I’m looking for is for someone to come do backyard clean up ASAP. I don’t need Landscaping at this point but I need help with cleaning up and dumping some of the dirt we have. Do you have any ideas? I’m hopeful to find someone by this week or the week after that if possible. 2) someone to do a small amount of cement work, enough just to make a pad for a water fountain to stand on.

Neighbor Carol/Eagle Ridge Cr....looking for feedback on voles

Any Hillcrest neighbors having problems with rodents (voles, mice, and gofers)? I've already spoken to several others who are also having the problem, which is resulting in some destruction of our landscaping!! We live on Eagle Ridge Circle.

Is anyone else in Hillcrest experiencing the same problem? (I imagine so, since they multiply by the thousands, never hibernate, and eat lush green plants and lawns.) They eat the roots, so the damage is done before you know it!

My plan is to find out the status of this problem in the neighborhood, inquire if anyone has found a good method or company to control it, and see if we can coordinate an effort for the little rascals extinction (well, that will never happen, but it sure would be nice to slow down their voracious attack on our yards).

My daughter, Taylor (age 7) left her scooter at Hillcrest Park (Grandview) Tuesday eve (7/29), and it was gone when we went back to get it the next day. I thought maybe there was an outside chance somebody picked it up? Her last name is lightly "scratched" on the bottom. Is there a lost and found posting?

FIREWORKS AFTER DARK!
If you plan to participate, the committee asks each family to contribute fireworks (legal only and no firecrackers please!) to the big event. Please drop off between now and July 4 at 1690 or 1694 Islay Court (leave on porch if no one is home), or bring to the day time party and there will be a drop off box there.

When: gather starting at 8:15 (BYOB), fireworks at 9:00pm, July 4
Where: Islay Court, off Glen Mady
What to bring: lawn chairs or blankets, cooler with drinks, snacks if you like.

Your Hillcrest Fireworks Committee will put on a show for you!!! The committee will handle the lighting of the fireworks in a designated area, and we ask that young children be monitored by an adult.

There's an owl's nest with parents and chick(s) if you go left on the trail that starts just outside the hood at the end of Woodglen (crossing over Golf Links). About a 1/4 mile down...in the last stand of Oak trees, on the left.

i was thinking....really wouldn't it be nice if we had a website/blog that people could go to and start communicating as a neighborhood?

the "hood" being that area bordered by broadstone, scholar way and golf links....

wouldn't it be nice to know your neighbors who are interested in getting together for:

tennis
walking
running
book club
babysitters
pet-sitters
poker night (!)
men's interests (i.e., basketball, golf, soccer, stogies, football, etc.)
restaurant reviews (!)
play groups
cooking groups
whatever!!
etc.

so... here it is:-) a mini "tomato pages" -- get the word out!
